CASE-ing Christmas Challenge #5

This week at

we have Mynn's pretty card to CASE.

I was drawn to the color combo and the pretty glittery snowflake
so that's what I used from Mynn's card as the basis for mine.

I used Dazzles stickers from Hot Off the Press.
I took 3 snowflakes, backing 2 with white card stock and 1
with black card stock and layered with foam dots.

The Dazzles greeting was added along with some
Dazzles corner stickers and some enamel dots.
All of this placed on the embossed background.
I think I'm becoming addicted to embossing!

Anyway, be sure and check out the other DT creations
and then show us what you come up with!

Valentine #4

I'm not doing so well at getting a few more Valentine's cards done.
I've been concentrating on getting my DT creations done.
So, I decided to take a brief break from those and make
a card combining 2 of my favorite challenges to participate with.

The sketch is from
and the rest of the inspiration comes from the photo at

I used one of my favorite embossing folders from the Paper Studio
and the cupcake image was a free digi from Beary Wishes
which I colored with Spectrum Noir markers.
The greeting was computer generated and I added heart shaped gems.

Case-ing Christmas Challenge #4

It's a new challenge at CASE-ing Christmas.
This is the card I created as a member of the Even Team.

Remember, you can use any element in this card by DT member Rocky to create yours. I chose to go a more whimsical route this time using the layout and snowflakes as my inspiration

I found the cute reindeer stickers at Michaels and thought
they would work rather well with this layout.
The Darice embossing folder I used for the background
is one of my favorites. The snowflakes were a find in
the button department at Walmart and I added the red enamel dots.
The greeting was computer generated and there you have it!
Be sure and check out the rest of the DT's creations at
CASE-ing Christmas

Valentine #3

Don't know if I'm going to get more Valentine cards done
this year than last but I'm going to try!
This is only the third one I've come up with. I guess
I better get a move on!

Not sure I'm entirely happy with the final outcome, but it is what it is!
The focal was a free digital stamp from Beary Wishes.
I've had it for a while and just now using it for the first time.
I colored it with Spectrum Noir markers, fussy cut and added to
the embossed panel with foam tape. The embossing folder I used is from Sizzix.
The border was done with a Fiskars punch. I printed the sentiment on the computer,
added the heart button from Walmart and made a bow with twine from Michaels.
I used the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches as my main inspiration.

Case-ing Christmas Challenge #2

I am so happy to have been asked to be part of the Design Team
for a new Christmas card challenge called
This is  a weekly challenge where you are given an example
of one of the design teams cards and asked to create your
own version based on something in the card that inspires you.
That can be the layout, the colors. elements, whatever!

This week Pat's beautiful card is the inspiration.

This is my take which I call "Silver Bells".
I was inspired by the colors and the banners.

The bells image I used is a free coloring page printable.
I printed on white card stock, colored with smooch inks,
fussy cut and added some gems and jewel dazzles.
I stamped the greeting with a Fiskars stamp and
die cut into a label with a Lifestyle Crafts die.
The embossing folder is from Cuttlebug and
the metallic papers are DCWV.
I hope you'll come up with your own version
and link up with us at Case-ing Christmas.

Chocolate, Coffee & Cards Challenge #82

No Circles

It's a new challenge at Chocolate, Coffee & Cards sponsored by

This time create a card with NO CIRCLES.

I used the "MIMSY" digital stamp from
Rick St. Dennis.

Mimsy was printed on white card stock, colored with a
combination of spectrum noir markers and pencil colors and fussy cut.
I foam taped her to ovals that were cut with Sizzix dies
and embossed with a Paper Studio embossing folder.
The purple panel behind the oval was done with a
Cuttlebug folder. An old Sizzix sizzlit was used to cut the
flourishes behind the paper Reollections rose.
I finished up with a computer generated greeting
on an oval die cut.

So, see what you can come up with using NO CIRCLES and link it up with
Chocolate, Coffee & Cards Challenge.

Dreaming of Springtime?

Okay, I must be dreaming of springtime.  It's been snowing here all afternoon
so you'd think I'd be inspired to come up with a more winter themed
card, but no I came up with this one!

I wanted to link up with the challenge at Beccy's Place,
where you need to use one of her images to do so.
I had this one which I won last month
and thought it would work well with the color combo at colourQ.

I printed the image on white card stock, colored with spectrum noir
pencil colors, fussy cut and added to the die cut ovals.
I did a little bit of dry embossing, stamped a sentiment and
finished up with some enamel dots.
And there you have it. Springtime!
Boy, that's really wishful thinking. It's only January
and I live in Colorado!
Anyway, hope you all have a great rest of the weekend.

HOC January Challenge 2015

Happy New Year!
Can you believe it's 2015? Where did 2014 go?
So I guess it's "out with the old and in with the new"!
The new year means a new term at
House of Cards.
We have some new design team members and
some great new challenges coming your way.

This month the challenge is to use glitter and/or the given color combo/photo inspiration.

I chose to use a little bit of glitter and the color combo.

I immediately thought "peacock" when I saw these colors
and knew this Jolee's boutique sticker was perfect for this card.
I framed the peacock with a Spellbinders die cut and added some
stickles. The background DP is from Hot Off the Press.
The greeting was computer generated and cut with a
Taylored Expressions die.

I hope you link up your creation over at
House of Cards.
You have all month to do so and be sure and check out new inspiration from
different DT members each week throughout the month.
