Die Cut Christmas

I wanted to get a couple more Christmas cards done to link up
with the Beccy's Place A Month of Christmas Cards Challenge.
Today Beccy has a card posted in which she used several die cuts
and challenges everyone else to do so.

Here's my take.

I used some Cricut die cuts. Some Sizzix originals die cuts
and Sizzix sizzlits die cuts. I threw in some punched snowflakes too.
I added some stickles to the center of the snowflakes
and used a white gel pen to add snow on the trees and the background.

Although it's not a pretty card like Beccy's I enjoyed putting
it together and think it turned out rather cute!

Season's Greetings

I love the current color combo at Color Throwdown for Christmas cards.
So I decided to combine it with the sketch challenge

The poinsettia is a free printable from Beccy's Place, which I'm
also linking up to for the Month of Holiday Cards Challenge.
I printed it twice on red card stock, highlighted with a silver paint pen,
fussy cut and layered on top of the DP from DCWV's
Foiled Elegant Stack. The greeting was stamped with a Hero Arts stamp.
I added the silver corner stickers which are from the Paper Studio
and ribbon from Michaels.

Thanks for taking a look!

Santa and Rudolph

Beccy's Place is running a Month of Holiday Cards Challenge
and there is a different theme each day.
Today the theme is to "Construct a Card"
using pre-colored cut outs, printables or purchased kits.
You should check out Beccy's card. It is beautiful.

But I didn't go the beautiful route. I decided to go with
cute and fun!

I found this Echo Park digital kit by Lori Whitlock called "Christmas Day"
and had a great time printing out each element
and fussy cutting to create this scene.

Wedding Day

I have an obsession with weddings. Always have, always will.
So I decided to make a wedding card using the current sketch at

The image of the couple is a free printable from Beccy's Place.
I colored the image with a combination of pencil colors,
spectrum noir markers and smooch ink and fussy cut.
The purple panel was embossed with a Cuttlebug
border embossing folder. The ribbon slide is from
my stash, can't remember where I purchased it.
I added 3 gems to finish up.

Snow Globe Wishes

Shaped cards are usually not my thing but I had some fun creating this one
so maybe I need to break out of my comfort zone and do some more!

I wanted to participate in the color challenge at the
Cosmic Colours challenge and felt like snowmen
would go well with the color combo, so when
I saw the current challenge at Die Cuttin' Diva's was to create
shaped cards a snow globe came to mind.

I cut the snow globe with the Christmas Cheer
Cricut cartridge. The snow family was stamped
with a Deep Red stamp, colored with pencil colors and fussy cut
I dry embossed the top part of the background,
tore a couple pieces of paper for the snow bank
and added glitter. The 3 blue snowflakes were some
I've had in my stash for quite a while. I used a Hero Arts
stamp for the greeting.

Rustic Christmas

Okay I'm calling this card "Rustic Christmas" even though
I'm not sure it's really rustic, but it's about as close as I get to being "rustic".

It was inspired by the photo challenge over at
Just Us Girls.

The tree was die cut twice with the Christmas Cheer
Cricut cartridge and layered. I added copper and antique gold brads.
The large ivory panel was embossed with a Darice embossing folder.
Square copper brads were added to the green strips.
The Stickabilities sticker greeting was placed on a label die cut
with a Taylored Expressions die.
And there you have it, "Rustic Christmas"?

Holiday Wishes

Here's my take on this week's sketch over at

The ornaments and sentiment were stamped with a Fiskars
stamp set called "Twas the Night Before" and embossed.
The pine fronds were punched with a Martha Stewart punch.
I used black and silver metallic papers from DCWV.

Christmas Carousel

I have one last post for today with another holiday card.
This one was created with inspiration from
and
ColourQ.
The image I used is from
Beccy's Place.

Birthday Princess

I needed to get a pink birthday card made so I took a little break
from my holiday card making.

I stamped the Prima doll twice, colored her dress and crown with
smooch inks, fussy cut and layered on her pencil colored body.

The ovals and banners were die cut. I did some dry embossing,
stamped the sentiment and added a little bling!

Christmas Wreath

I'm back with a card I put together yesterday. I wanted to make a wreath
card which is inspired by the month long challenge going on
at Beccy's Place.  There's a different theme each day this month
for holiday cards and seeing what's there really gets your juices flowing!

The sketch is from Cardabilities.

I just bought a new Sizzix Bigz die called Ornate Plate
which is what I used as the wreath. The poinsettias are
Paper Studio 3-D stickers. I added some green and red leaf sequins
around the flowers. I used a gold gel pen on the edges of the wreath,
which doesn't show in the picture too well.
The greeting is stamped with a Hero Arts stamp and cut with a
Taylored Expressions label die and edged with the gold pen.

There's Snow One Like You

I'm still working on Christmas cards so I found some inspiration
for this one at Color Throwdown.
Not exactly what you would expect, color wise, for
a Christmas card but I rather like the way it turned out!

I love this cute snowman digital stamp I got from Beccy's Place.
There's a fun holiday cards challenge going on there all month.
I've got to get back to making a few more cards!

Christmas Buddies

I made a card this afternoon using one of my favorite stamps
from Penny Black.

I decided to go with non traditional Christmas colors
using inspiration from Color Throwdown.

I colored the image with pencil colors and used papers from
DCWV's Glitter Basics Stack.
The snowflake came from the button department
at WalMart and I added the gems.
The sentiment sticker is from the Paper Studio.

Greetings From the North Pole

When I saw the color challenge for this week over at
I knew I wanted to do a holiday card.

So seeing this coloring combo and the sketch at the
Sweet Sunday Challenge
made it pretty easy to throw this together.

I used North Pole Dazzles from Hot Off the Press
which were backed with white card stock, colored with
markers to match the color scheme and then fussy cut.
The DP also came from Hot off the Press.
The greeting was stamped with a Hero Arts stamp.

Andrew's Birthday Travels

I've created a vintage inspired birthday card for this week's
C Thru the Woods Clear Stamps design featuring the large Andrew stamp.

Andrew was stamped on white card stock, colored with pencil colors
and fussy cut.  I foam tape him to a tag backed with
papers from the Paper Studio's Mirabelle paper pack.
The paper tole die cut is from Hot Off the Press.
I added some die cut swirls cut with a Sizzix thinlits die.
The sun glasses were cut with a Taylored Expressions die.
The large panel was covered with paper from
DCWV's Old World Stack.
I finished up with a sentiment sticker and square brads from Recollections.

I just love coming up with ideas to use all the guy stamps from

Vintage Christmas Joy

I managed to get another Christmas card done this morning.
I think this one has a vintage feel, which is a style I really like
but I don't do very often. I'm usually a Classic/Elegant kinda gal.
Anyway, this is what I came up with.

I was inspired to do a more vintage style by the month long challenge that
is going on at Beccy's Place. She has lots of inspiration with
a different theme and prize giveaways every day.
The Vintage theme is from Day 7.

I used the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

The papers are from the Paper Studio's Mirabelle paper pack.
The tree and deer stamps and dies are Tim Holtz.
The sentiment stamp is Hero Arts.
The buttons came from WalMart.

Chalkboard Christmas

The challenge over at Just Us Girls this week is
to create a card with the chalkboard effect.
I love this look and have never tried it so I thought
I would give it a go!

I used the sketch at retrosketches.

I think I did okay for the first attempt, but may take some
more practice. I wish it would've photographed better.
Anyway as always...

Snow Family Fun

I have the cutest  snowman digital stamp set from
Beccy's Place.
So I decided to use the snow family image to create this
fun holiday card.

I printed the image on white card stock, colored with
smooch ink and gel pens and fussy cut.
The greeting is part of a digital set from
Daydream Designs
called Christmas Wonder Sentiment Set.
I printed it on the white background and then embossed with
a Paper Studio embossing folder.
I popped the snow family with foam tape.
The snowflake base is a Dazzles sticker layered with
the white plastic snowflake from WalMart's button department.
The DP is Recollections.

Christmas Horn

I've realized I have to get back in the mode to get the number of
Christmas cards made that I set out to do at the beginning of the year.
I can't believe it's November and Christmas will be here before we know it.

So I have this one inspired by the sketch at
and the color combo from

The horn stamp is from DRS Designs.
I stamped it 3 times, once on cream colored card stock,
(the horn was colored with a gold gel pen)
then on green and red and paper pieced.
The frame was cut with a Paper Artist
Lacy Labels die from Hot Off the Press.
The cream card stock was embossed with a
Darice embossing folder.
The ribbon, sticker greeting and gems are from my stash.

One Last Halloween Card

Ok, I know we're past Halloween but I had one last card I created for this year.
It's one of those situations where I brought cards to some of my co-workers
on Friday and realized I should've brought one more for someone who was
off on Friday. So she'll get her card tomorrow.
(Did I really just admit that! I must be an awful person.)

I've become obsessed with the Prima Doll Stamps.
So I thought I'd make this one a witch inspired by the
papers from DCWV's Fall & Halloween Stack
and a stamp set I have from Graphic 45.
I stamped the doll on white card stock, colored with Spectrum Noir markers
and fussy cut, as were the hat and broom.
I cut around the sentiment from the paper stack and
glued it on another one of the printed papers.
The border was punched with one of my favorite Fiskars punches.
I think, now I'm gonna have to get back to those Christmas cards so
I don't find myself in the same kind of situation as above!

Singing Snowmen

I recently won some digital images on the
Beccy's Place Challenge (thank you Beccy!)
and couldn't wait to get started using them on some more Christmas cards.

The sketch is from the current challenge at

I love these singing snowmen! This image was already colored
so I dug out some papers I thought would work well with the green
music book. The stamped sentiment is Hero Arts. The pale green background
panel was embossed with a Darice embossing folder. The printed papers
are from DCWV's 6x6 Basics Glitter Stack.
I had the Dazzles snowflake stickers in my stash. I put them
on white card stock and fussy cut. I used some of the Dazzles innies
on the embossed snowflake background and finished up with green gems.

Thanks for taking a look!

Cowboy Dan

This morning I have a card I created for
featuring the Cowboy Dan stamp.

Dan was stamped on white card stock, colored with pencil colors
and fussy cut.  The background was done with a combination
of things. The sky was dry embossed with a Darice cloud embossing
folder and then sponged with blue ink. The barn is a digital image
and the horse and rope came from a sticker set from the Paper Studio.
I stamped "Howdy Ma'am", which comes with the Dan stamp, on a tag
from a free Paper Wishes download.

HOC November Challenge

Hello all! It's a new month and that means a new challenge at
This month we have a sketch challenge going on.

Use the sketch to create a card in any style you choose.
As always you have all month to link up
and be sure to check each week and see what
the different design teams came up with.

My card is in the Classic and Elegant style.

I decided to use some of my Dazzles stash for this one.
Here are some close ups.

I took 3 different sizes of the stickers and backed them with
red and black card stock and fussy cut.
Then I layered with foam tape.
I used a Sizzix embossing folder for the main panel
and a Darice embossing folder for the red border.
The oval was cut with Sizzix framelits dies and the
swirls I added were cut with a Sizzlits die.
The greeting is a sticker I placed on a
Taylored Expressions label die and I finished by
adding the jewell dazzles on the embossed areas.
